The artist was born and educated in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jla's work is dynamic, multi-dimensional and multi-faceted.

Her works include, Byzantine Icons created on wood with Egg Tempera and Gold Leaf, Fine Oil Portraits, Jewel-like Pastels and Watercolors, Masterful Etchings and renderings in Ink and Graphite, Collages and 3-dimensional pieces.
